RSBM Two Sizes (Types) of Excavator Rotating Grapple

a. Briefly Introduction

Excavator Rotating grapple (rotary grapple) could be divided generally into two main types. (Three actually, but the third one belongs to a European patent)

b. Different Types

(1) Regular Rotating Grapple (Rotating Grab)
It’s the most common type of our rotating grab (rotary grab). It could be applied on land clearing, waste materials handling, demolition, rock breaking, wall construction, etc.

(2) Hollow out Rotating Grapple
As the photo shown, this rotating grab, functioning similar with regular type although, looks a little different, and that’s why it’s called “Hollow out Type”.

c. Similarity

(1) The basic structures are similar – with 360 degree rotation.
(2) The usages are also alike – for grabbing logs or woods.

d. Difference

(1) First of all – the difference in design. As these two photos show, their grabbing claws shapes unlike.

(2) Usage. Regular rotating grapple is mainly applied in grabbing, and the hollow out type of grapple, inversely, is also named as “hydraulic clamp” which refers more to cutting.
