Clamshell buckets are gripping devices formed by two shells in synchronous movement, put in motion by hydraulic cylinders. In general terms, these attachments are suitable to load of gravel, sand and earth, or to the dig hard soil and compact surfaces. Depending on the constructive geometry and accessories, clamshell buckets can have a specific application. They can be mounted on a wide range of machines, such as truck cranes, backhoe loaders, mini excavators, stationary cranes, material handlers, harbors cranes, rail road excavators and so on.
The loading version is used for the movement of earth, sand, gravel, mud, cereals, coal, fertilizers, industrial and agricultural waste, minerals, etc.
Clamshell buckets can mount a full range of accessories, which can make them suitable for specific applications. The most common optional are hydraulic rotators, mechanical rotators (free revolving), bolt-on digging teeth.
All models can be supplied with or without teeth and equipped with hydraulic rotator.
All products are built using NM500 wear-resistant steel for the structural parts, which has the characteristics of high strength and wear resistance. The pins are made of 42CrMo alloy steel with heat treatment process and built-in oil passage, which has the advantages of good toughness. The main body of the product uses a double-cylinder connecting rod design and a honing tube, with an imported HALLITE oil seal. It has the characteristics of short working cycle, long life, and flexible operation.
